The staff’s main areas of research include, amongst others, music and dictatorship, performance studies, the sociology of music, music for keyboard instruments, music geography, audiovisual media and popular music. The organisation of conferences and symposia, numerous publications, two series of publications, a wide range of ongoing research and doctoral projects, as well as the intensive activity of the »Ben-Haim-Forschungszentrum« based here, demonstrate the Institute’s high academic standards, which are closely linked to the university’s practical training.
