On Thursday, 17 October 2024, the »Forum Respect & Trust« met at our university for its first, constituent meeting. Under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Sonja Stibi, Vice President for Teaching Development, Diversity and Research at HMTM, around 20 university members came together to discuss the upcoming tasks and topics.
The »Forum Respect & Trust« is an open committee for all university members who are interested in the topics of awareness-raising and education against abuse of power and sexualised violence, equality, anti-discrimination, diversity, inclusion and health and who want to get involved in implementing them in everyday university life. All interested university members are invited to attend the meetings and to bring topics to the forum.
In addition, all official contact persons and advice centres at HMTM that work in this field are involved in the forum in order to provide information about their respective work and to coordinate it with current developments and topics. Accordingly, representatives of the confidants, the equal opportunities team, the office of the dean of studies and the career centre, as well as the representative for anti-discrimination, the representative for severely disabled persons, and the advisor for human resources development (women’s advancement) were also present at the constituent meeting. Sinem Gökser, who is responsible for diversity and equality at all Munich art colleges, also introduced herself as a new function.
The »Forum Respekt & Vertrauen« replaces the »AG Respekt«, which has existed since 2018, and bundles the tasks in an updated structure. It is open to all interested members of the university and offers space for topics and open exchange, while also serving to inform and coordinate the various activities at the HMTM. A steering group specifies the topics and tasks on behalf of the forum.
