Coming to Munich

Thank you for your interest in HMTM! Every semester, we welcome a large number of exchange students from all over the world.

We are happy to help you prepare for your stay. Please note that you must submit your application to the International Office at your home university first!

HMTM offers a wide range of degree courses and programmes. Here you will find all degree course options and the current course catalogue.

The Erasmus code of HMTM is D MUNCHEN03.

  • Application and Deadlines

    Please submit your application online via EASY Mobility Online from February 1 to March 15.

    Documents to be submitted:

    • Study Plan
    • CV
    • Letter of Motivation
    • Letter of recommendation from main subject teacher
    • Link to the recordings (video/audio: YouTube, Dropbox, etc.): 20–30 minutes from at least three stylistic periods relevant to the subject
    • Copy of passport or identity card

    Instructions for completing the Learning Agreement
    You can use the study plan to specify your course list. The study plans can be found on the pages of your respective study programme (e.g. Flute > Dokumente > Studieren > Studienplan).

    Semester times and important dates
    You can find an overview of important dates on our website (Study > Important dates).

  • Main subject teachers

    You can use the search function in the section people to find teachers for your main subject. Please note that associate lecturers are not permitted to teach exchange students.

  • Student Dormitory

    Exchange students can apply for a place in a student dormitory. Please contact Mike Gangkofner.

  • Semester fees

    If you are accepted as an exchange student, you must pay a semester contribution upon enrolment. You will receive information on this in your letter of acceptance.
