New Vice Presidents Elected

At its meeting on Tuesday, 11 July 2023, the University of Music and Theatre’s University Council elected the Vice Presidents for the next term of office (winter semester 2023/24 up to and including summer semester 2025). Prof. Markus Bellheim was elected Vice President for Arts and International Affairs and Prof. Dr. Sonja Stibi Vice President for Teaching Development and Diversity. Both will take office on 1 October 2023.

Prof. Markus Bellheim and Prof. Dr. Sonja Stibi look forward to their tasks.

Prof. Markus Bellheim, Vice President for Arts and International Affairs, will be responsible for e.g. events, cooperation and scholarships. Prof. Dr. Sonja Stibi, Vice President for Teaching Development and Diversity, will be responsible for research, university didactic training and the promotion of young academics, among other things.

Prof. Klaus Mohr will continue in his position as Vice President for Studies and Teaching for the next two academic years. Together with President Prof. Lydia Grün and Chancellor Dr. Stefan Schmaus, the three Vice Presidents will form the University Administration from October 2023.

Vice President Prof. Christiane Iven and Vice President Dirk Mommertz did not stand for re-election. Their term of office ends on 30 September 2023. The University of Music and Theatre would like to thank them for their tremendous commitment over the past years, which has given the University of Music and Theatre many new impulses. Together with former President Prof. Dr. Bernd Redmann and Vice President Prof. Klaus Mohr, they successfully led the university through the Covid crisis.
