KMD Prof. Stephan Zippe

Stephan Zippe is Professor of Gregorian Chant and German liturgical singing at the University of Music and Theatre Munich since 2006 and Diocesan Music Director of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising since 2019. He studied Catholic church music from 1992 to 1997, specialising in Gregorian chant with Johannes B. Göschl.
He ist a long-standing member of the International Association for the Study of Gregorian Chant (AISCGre), member and head of the AISCGre working group on melodic restitution and first chairman of the German-speaking section of the AISCGre since 2011. He is co-editor of the Beiträge zur Gregorianik, the Graduale Novum (2011/2018) and the new Münchener Kantorale (2013–2023).
