At our university, the language of instruction is German. For many degree programmes, you must therefore provide proof of your German language skills. You will find information about the required level for your programme in the section Study > Course options.
Orientation days are organised for all new students at the beginning of the winter semester. In the winter semester 2024/25, these will take place from October 9-13, 2024. The program will be published here in September.

The seminar »#gis – Grundlagen für internationale Studierende« is a project of the International Office of HMTM. It is aimed at international students on Bachelor’s degree programmes.
The seminar includes learning units from two areas:
At the centre of each learning unit is an animated explanatory video. The script and a vocabulary list with technical terms are available for download for each video.
The German texts in the videos correspond to language level B1 and are subtitled in German.
The content shall build a bridge between the basic knowledge and the music theory modules in the artistic degree programs.
