Prof. Dr. phil. Ulrich Kaiser

Ulrich Kaiser is a professor of music theory and holds a doctorate in musicology with a focus on open educational resources (OER) and digital teaching and learning. In 2017, he initiated the open learning platform for music elmu.online. He was the initiator and, from 2021 to 2025, the director of the oer-lfm project funded by the »Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre«, which gave rise to the Open Music Academy (openmusic.academy). In 2024, Ulrich Kaiser was nominated by OE Global in a global competition for the Open Education Award for Excellence in the Educator Award category. In the same year, the Open Music Academy received this award in the Open Infrastructure category. In 2025, Ulrich Kaiser was awarded the Prize for Good Teaching by the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts.
