Biography

Isabelle Sévers, M. A., graduated from the renowned John Cranko School in Stuttgart. After first professional experiences with the Stuttgart Ballet, she moved to Munich to join the Bavarian State Ballett directed by Prof. Konstanze Vernon. In 1996, she was invited by Richard Cragun to join the Ballet of the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, where she worked for three years before returning to Munich in 1999. She danced for 14 more seasons as a member of the Bavarian State Ballet, this time under the directorship of Ivan Lìska. In 2011, Isabelle was awarded the »Dr. Irene-Lejeune Ballett-Preis« for the outstanding performance of a solo created for her by Simone Sandroni, »P.S, mein Herz brach nur einmal«.

Isabelle Sévers worked with many different choreographers and danced both classical and neo-classical repertoire from Petipa, Balanchine, Neumeier, Mac Millan, Cranko, among others, as well as more contemporary pieces created by Forsythe, Kylian, Ek, Godani, Preljocaj, to name a few. She was to be seen in the corps de ballet as well as in diverse solo parts.

Since September 2015, Isabelle Sévers teaches classical ballet at the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Theatre Munich. Since 2018, she also prepares the children ballet performing in the productions of the Bavarian State Ballet. In July 2021 she obtained a Master’s degree in dance pedagogy at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden under the guidance of Prof. Olga Melnikova. Isabelle Sévers is also a certified »Progressing Ballet Technique« instructor.
