Biography

Martin Rasch, born in 1974, studied at the University of Music and Theatre Munich with Rainer Fuchs, Hugo Steurer and Gerhard Oppitz.
In his concert activities, he regularly focuses on cyclical performances of important series of works such as Bach’s »The Well-Tempered Clavier« and the piano sonatas of Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. Highly successful performances of Beethoven’s five piano concertos with the Munich Symphony Orchestra were followed by piano concertos by Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, Brahms and Rachmaninoff.
His recordings include Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas and Schönberg’s complete piano works.

In 1997, Martin Rasch won first prize at the international piano competition in Calabria, Italy. In 2002, he was awarded the E.ON Culture Promotion Award and in 2004 the Bayerischer Kunstförderpreis (Bavarian Award for the Advancement of the Arts).

Martin Rasch is a professor at the University of Music and Theare Munich, where he has been teaching a piano class since 2002.
