Teaching abroad

Erasmus+ promotes guest lectureships at European partner universities. Where possible, the development of joint study programs at the partner universities as well as the exchange of teaching content and methods should be included in the stay. Teaching visits within Europe generally last between two and ten days (excluding travel time). The teaching workload is at least eight hours per week.

Applications are possible on an ongoing basis (subject to available funding).

Information on funding

  • Who receives funding?

    All HMTM employees who work in teaching are eligible to apply

  • What teaching programme is funded?

    Erasmus+ supports guest lectureships and master classes abroad. The minimum duration of stay is two days and requires a teaching load of at least 8 hours.

    Erasmus+ offers a financial contribution towards living and travel expenses – no honorarium payments are provided.

  • How is funding provided?

    Erasmus+ provides financial support for accommodation and travel costs. These are based on the cost of living in the destination country and the travel distance.

    The minimum length of stay is two days.

    Daily allowances by country group (project 2023 – ends in 2025):

    • Group 1 – €180/day: Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden
    • Group 2 – €160/day: Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus
    • Group 3 – €140/day: Bulgaria, Republic of North Macedonia, Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary

    Travel costs according to distance (Distance Calculator of the European Commission):

    • 10 to 99 km: € 23
    • 100 to 499 km: € 180 (with sustainable arrival and departure: € 210)
    • 500 to 1999 km: € 275 (with sustainable arrival and departure: € 320)
    • 2000 to 2999 km: € 360 (with sustainable arrival and departure: € 410)
    • 3000 to 3999 km: € 530 (with sustainable arrival and departure: € 610)
    • 4000 to 7999 km: € 820
    • 8000 km and more: € 1,500
