When selecting her programme, she particularly enjoys promoting rarely heard works; her repertoire includes violin concertos by Respighi, Wolf-Ferrari, Dohnányi, Goldmark, Delius and Adams.
Renowned for her passionate interpretations, her highly developed sense of sound and her uncanny understanding on stage, she and her duo partner, pianist Lukas Maria Kuen, have shared a great passion for chamber music and a great joy in discovering the seemingly inexhaustible repertoire of their instrumentation in the Duo Dauenhauer Kuen since its founding in 2008. Their four CDs to date, featuring first recordings of late Romantic French works and violin sonatas by Busoni and Pfitzner, have been highly praised by the international music press. The CD »Dreamer« (Reger/Schubert) was nominated for an Opus Klassik award. In cooperation with SWR, the duo has released a recording of all works for violin and piano by Max Bruch, including a world premiere recording.
In demand as a chamber music partner and guest concertmaster, Anna Sophie Dauenhauer is also a regular guest at renowned concert series and festivals.
In addition to her concert career, the violinist is a committed mentor for young musicians, gives masterclasses for young talent and is a lecturer for projects of the Bayerisches Landesjugendorchester (Bavarian State Youth Orchestra). She has also been teaching at the University of Music and Theatre Munich since the winter semester of 2023.
Born in Kaiserslautern in Rhineland-Palatinate, the violinist has made Lake Starnberg her home for several years now.
