Bernhard Spingler was a lecturer for Voice Studies at the University of Music and Theatre Munich from 2005 to 2015 and has since been a contract teacher for special tasks. He currently teaches students majoring in voice, teaching (also with a profile subject in voice), choral conducting and church music (also with a major in voice), orchestral conducting, as well as instrumental students with a second or elective subject in voice.
Until 2004, Bernhard Spingler was a soloist with the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, and before that at the Wuppertaler Bühnen, the Staatstheater Kassel and the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf and Duisburg. International stage engagements have taken him to the Fondazione Arena di Verona, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, the Opera Royal de Wallonie Liége, the Cologne Opera, the Aalto Music Theatre Essen and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, among others. His concert repertoire includes the bass and baritone vocal parts of major church works. International performances have taken him throughout Europe.
Bernhard Spingler has participated in numerous radio, CD and TV productions for BR, HR, Radio Bremen, RSR, RTBF, SWR, WDR and the »Capriccio« label.
Former students from Bernhard Spingler’s class are/were active as singers at opera houses such as the Staatsoper unter den Linden Berlin, the Semperoper Dresden, the Oper Frankfurt and the Metropolitan Opera New York.
