Verena Mogl studied historical and systematic musicology and Modern German Literature at the University of Hamburg, where she also completed her dissertation on the Polish-Jewish composer Mieczysław Weinberg. After working at the Institut für kulturelle Innovationsforschung at the HfMT Hamburg, she taught musicology at the HfMT and was also project manager and artistic director of akademie kontemporär, an EU-funded academy for young musicians and contemporary music. After working in the Netzwerk 4.0 der Musikhochschulen, where she was also a member of the management board from April 2024, since January 2025 she has been working on her DFG-funded research project on musical life and in particular music theatre productions in Tashkent between 1941 and 1943.
