Biography

Simone Geiger Liebreich studied classical ballett and ballet pedagogy at the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Theatre Munich. After her graduation she danced as a demi-soloist in Düsseldorf, Deutsche Oper am Rhein under the direction of Heinz Spoerli and in Munich at the Bayerisches Staatsballett under the direction of Konstanze Vernon and Ivan Liška. In 2000, she became a member of the renowned Nederlands Dans Theater in The Hague. There she worked with leading choreographers of contemporary dance, such as Jiri Kylian, Hans van Manen, Ohad Naharin, Mats Ek, Saburo Tegshigawara, William Forsythe, Tero Saarinen, Jorma Elo, Crystal Pite, and others.

Since the winter semester of 2010, Simone Geiger Liebreich has been teaching classical dance, pointe, repertoire (both classical and contemporary) and Pilates at the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Theatre Munich. Since 2012, she has been responsible for the rehearsals for the production of undergraduate students and the children which perform in the productions of the Bayerisches Staatsballett.
