The retro digitised recordings of vinyl records and CDs consist of classical music recordings that are no longer protected under German/European copyright law. This applies to works whose authors have been deceased for more than 70 years and whose recordings were first recorded and published before 1 January 1963. Both the original recordings and the digitised versions of these compositions made available here are in the public domain (CC0) in Germany/the EU.
Digital audio and video recordings of HMTM concert performances may be downloaded for private, non-commercial purposes. For any public use, permission must be obtained from HMTM and, where applicable, from other rights holders (GEMA, the publisher, VG Musikedition, etc.). The publication of copyright-protected works takes place under a fixed-term licence agreement. Copyright law does not guarantee permanent availability for every work.
