University choir (Hochschulchor)

The University choir of the University of Music and Theatre Munich is one of our university’s main vocal ensembles and has been led by Prof. Arndt Martin Henzelmann since 2024. It brings together students from most of the HMTM’s artistic degree courses.

Its repertoire includes both central works of the European choral tradition and rarely performed gems. With two concerts per semester, the Hochschulchor is a regular feature of the university’s concert calendar.

Since 2025, the choir has also been open to students from other Munich universities, thereby creating a special space for artistic exchange within the HMTM and beyond.

In the 2026/27 winter semester, all students of Munich’s universities will once again be able to join the University choir of HMTM!

The semester project is a performance of Joseph Haydn’s oratorio »Die Schöpfung« in February in the Reaktorhalle.
