Anna Elisabeth Beke

Anna Beke studied theatre studies (MA, LMU Munich) and holds a diploma in stage dance (HMT Cologne). Since the 2026/27 season, she has been a dramaturg for Ballett Dortmund and the NRW Juniorballett under the direction of Dr Jaš Otrin; prior to this, she worked as a dramaturg at the Semperoper Ballett Dresden and in the dramaturgy department of the Bavarian State Ballet. She teaches at the Institute of Theatre Studies at LMU Munich and at the Ballet Academy of the HMTM. There, she was part of the curatorial leadership team for the »2024 Munich Dance Education Biennale« and the symposium »Dance Education in Transition« (2022), and acted as co-author of the »Pedagogical Concept« (2020).

As a dance journalist, she writes for the Münchner Merkur, the Münchner Feuilleton, the magazine dance for you and tanznetz.de; she also writes dramaturgical articles for the Vienna State Ballet and the Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich. In 2025, she was co-editor of the anthology »Erinnern und Bewahren. Das Bauhaus in seiner Zeit« (kopaed).

Beke regularly serves as a specialist judge, including for the Freie Tanzförderung and the Dance Promotion Prize awarded by the Department of Culture of the City of Munich, as well as for funding programmes run by the umbrella organisation Tanz Deutschland. In the past, she has choreographed works for young audiences, including for the Bavarian State Opera, the Bavarian State Ballet, the Residenztheater Munich, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Tyrolean State Theatre in Innsbruck.
