Kristina Bauer

Kristina Bauer was born in Munich and has been performing as a pianist since the age of eight.

Education: She initially studied music teaching for grammar schools and English language and literature at the University of Music and Theatre Munich (piano class of Prof. Michael Schäfer).
She then studied piano and advanced studies at the University of Music Würzburg and at the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar (class of Prof. Arne Torger).
Soloist class and chamber music studies with Rudolf Buchbinder at the Basel Academy of Music.

From 2000 international career as a piano duo with her sister Martina Bauer.
Worldwide concert activity, tours, competition successes, CDs with BMG and SONY as well as numerous radio recordings and television appearances.

Decades of teaching highly talented young people (including numerous national prizewinners and professional musicians).

• Conceptual development and realisation of numerous national and international youth projects (Lang Lang International Music Foundation New York, Junior Music Camp, Beethoven Project, etc.)
• Lecturer at gifted music courses and piano courses
• Speaker at interdisciplinary symposia (music/ visual arts)
• Juror (national competition »Jugend musiziert«, youth development competitions, etc.)
• Joint projects with other early education institutes

Since 2008 development and management (together with Prof. Martina Bauer) of the junior study programme for gifted children at the University of Music and Theatre Munich (HMTM).
