Biography

Yun-An Lee received her Master of Arts degree with distinction in piano performance from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2016. She completed her Meisterklasse diploma in piano performance with Prof. Margarita Höhenrieder at the University of Music and Theatre Munich.

As a solo pianist, Yun-An Lee has played numerous concerts and has been invited to various events, e.g. the prize winners’ concert of the Günter Bialas Composition Competition (2020), the Festival Cabardièses de Pennautier in France (2019), the Harald Genzmer Composition Competition Winners’ Concert (2018), the 200th anniversary of the MDW in Vienna (2017), the Advent Concert in Vienna (2015) and the Winners’ Concert in Budapest (2013). Another passion of the pianist is chamber music, to which she regularly devotes herself in a wide variety of ensembles. In 2014, her interpretation of Frank Martin’s »Piano Trio on Irish Folk Songs« was broadcast on the radio station Ö1. Other honours and awards include first prize at the International Béla Bartók Piano Competition (2013), a scholarship from the YAMAHA Music Foundation of Europe (2017) and a scholarship for the Idyllwild Arts Academy, USA (2007-2008).

Since 2019, she has been working as a répétiteur at the Ballet Academy of the University of Music and Theatre Munich. Her deep devotion to the ballet music has brought her to participate in ballet/dance workshops and ballet summer courses, where she gained the opportunities to work with some artistic directors and expert ballet/modern dance teachers.
