At its meeting yesterday evening, 30 June 2026, our University Council re-elected Prof. Lydia Grün as president for another four years. Negotiations with the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts will now follow.

It is one of the flagship institutions of Bavaria as a centre of culture and scholarship. I offer my warmest congratulations on her re-election and look forward to continuing our trusting collaboration. Together, we want to build on the university’s success story and create the best possible conditions for the artists of tomorrow.»

I am delighted to be able to continue representing this outstanding university and would like to thank the University Council for its trust. Working together, and thanks to the diverse perspectives of all members of the university community, we will ensure the HMTM is fit for the future and further enhance its reputation as an excellent, innovative and international art university.«
