Our online catalogue, called »webOPAC«, provides access to more than 180,000 media items held by the HMTM. It includes sheet music, eScores, books, eBooks, eJournals, CDs, DVDs, digital concert recordings, exam papers, dissertations and selected articles.
Information on the ordering and borrowing process can be found here.
In addition, we license many fee-based e-media and make them available to HMTM members via the Database Information System (Datenbankinfo-System DBIS), the Electronic Journals Library (Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek EZB) or the webOPAC.
The library provides you with access to over 6,000 licence-free and licence-required databases via the Database Information System (Datenbankinfo-System DBIS), such as MGG online, the Henle App, the Handbook of Cultural Management, and Daniels Orchestral Music online. DBIS is a cooperatively organised online service for the use of academic databases.
You can narrow down the selection to the top databases for each subject area.
If the HMTM’s digital offering is not sufficient for you, you can switch to the view of the Bavarian State Library or the LMU University Library.
The Electronic Journals Library (Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek EZB) is a service for the effective use of scientific full-text journals on the Internet. It offers fast, structured and uniform access to scientific full-text journals.
It comprises 121,407 titles, including 30,717 online-only journals, covering all subject areas. In addition, 152,628 journals are listed by aggregators. 85,368 specialist journals are freely accessible in full text. The HMTM also offers its users access to the full texts of the e-journals to which it subscribes.
The union catalogue of the Bavarian Library Network (Verbundkatalog des Bibliotheksverbundes Bayern – BVB) lists all media held by participating libraries, including all Bavarian university libraries, college libraries, regional state libraries and the Bavarian State Library. The libraries of the Berlin-Brandenburg Cooperative Library Network (Kooperativer Bibliotheksverbund Berlin-Brandenburg – KOBV) also contribute their media data to the Gateway Bayern portal.
The meta search engine was developed and is operated by the library of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The Karlsruhe Virtual Catalogue (Karlsruher Virtueller Katalog – KVK) enables parallel searches of over 80 bibliographic databases. The integrated data sources include numerous catalogues from academic libraries and networks in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as national catalogues from other countries, book trade directories and cross-institutional databases such as BASE, DART-Europe, DOAJ and Europeana.
The musiconn.search search engine draws on 18 music data sources and offers comprehensive search capabilities across more than 5.5 million individual entries.
The journal database (Zeitschriftendatenbank – ZDB) is the central bibliographic database for ongoing collections such as journals, e-journals, magazines and newspapers. It lists references from almost all academic libraries in Germany and Austria. The journal database is maintained by the Berlin State Library (SBB) in cooperation with the German National Library (DNB).
