Training abroad

Erasmus+ offers further education and training for university staff. Funding is available for employees from all areas of administration.

Applications are possible on an ongoing basis (subject to available funding).

Information on funding

  • Who receives funding?

    All HMTM employees are eligible to apply – regardless of department, e. g. administration, library, institutes, finance, communication, examination office, etc.

  • What training is funded?

    Erasmus+ supports a wide variety of further education formats. These can include

    • Job shadowing
    • Participation in workshops and seminars (so-called International Staff Weeks: Staff Week Search)
    • Language courses
  • How is funding provided?

    Erasmus+ provides financial support for accommodation and travel costs. These are based on the cost of living in the destination country and the travel distance.

    The minimum length of stay is two days.

    Daily allowances by country group (project 2023 – ends in 2025):

    • Group 1 – € 180/day: Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden
    • Group 2 – € 160/day: Belgium, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Cyprus
    • Group 3 – € 140/day: Bulgaria, Republic of North Macedonia, Estonia, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Turkey, Hungary

    Travel costs according to distance (Distance Calculator of the European Commission):

    • 10 to 99 km: € 23
    • 100 to 499 km: € 180 (with sustainable arrival and departure: € 210)
    • 500 to 1999 km: € 275 (with sustainable arrival and departure: € 320)
    • 2000 to 2999 km: € 360 (with sustainable arrival and departure: € 410)
    • 3000 to 3999 km: € 530 (with sustainable arrival and departure: € 610)
    • 4000 to 7999 km: € 820
    • 8000 km and more: € 1,500
