Austrian broadcaster ORF described the professional success of Alexander Maurer, born in 1985, as a »minor artistic sensation«.
The lecturer in Styrian harmonica at the University of Music and Theatre Munich and, at the same time, director of the institute of Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, became the world’s first associate university professor (assoc. Univ. Prof.) in the artistic field of Styrian harmonica.
After playing around 500 concerts (including at the Vienna Musikverein and the Vienna Opera Ball, the Merano City Theatre, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Swiss Alpentöne Festival and the Austrian Cultural Forum New York), numerous CD, DVD, radio and television productions, and seven established courses of study at conservatory and universities, Alexander Maurer is delighted to have successfully completed this milestone.
